I can finally say I AM HOME! It has been too long stuck. It was a bit of a harrowing ride home. We had to limp Flower (our van) back home.

She made it! yay! We even had to Duct tape my phone with the flashlight on, to the dash so my hubby could see the instrument panel because the dashlights went out.

We drove straight through except stopping at a rest stop to sleep a bit. We were telling our van how good she was. We were scared and anxious we would get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Coming home was bittersweet. I40 is still closed between Knoxville and Asheville so you have to take 81 N just outside of Knoxville, head north to 26 and take 26 south until you get to our exit to get us home. Part of 26 S is also closed. They divert you onto a tiny little lane, which is actually a lane taken from the Northbound side. The bridge is gone. and I look over and there was just a black crevasse where the bridge used to be. It was haunting. It was heartbreaking and bone chilling seeing all it.

So thankful to friends and neighbors who did so much for us before we got home. There is still so much to do. It will take years to rebuild here. Our community is strong and will rebuild.

We made it home, thank you to everyone who prayed for us, helped clean around our house, it is so nice to be home.

It appears that using the mobile app is working to publish the blog. I am also attempting to use my phone as a hotspot and see if there is enough service to do so. This would be helpful to do things that need the computer over a phone. Using a computer is easier for me than the phone. We will keep experimenting. Until next time,
